This means that you need to have the very best because when the site is down then you will not be getting the hits on the site that you need, which can spell certain doom for some companies. A server is actually nothing more than a large computer. The dedicated server has a great many advantages for the site owner. For one thing, you no longer have to be concerned about the site going down because of a faulty site that is stored on the server with yours. This is a very common problem with the shared server plan and can reek a lot of havoc on the other sites that are listed on the server. The dedicated server also allows you to expand beyond the constraints of the shared server much easier and faster. If you have a site that is constantly changing and growing then the advantages of a dedicated server are great to say the least.

The down side to the dedicated server is the price. In the low range you will find that a dedicated server may cost about eighty dollars a month and if you go high end then you may pay more than one hundred fifty dollars a month. This is the main reason why a lot of people do not go with the dedicated server unless it is absolutely necessary because unless you are making a lot of money it may not be cost effective for you to go with a dedicated server.
