What is ASP?

Many people have no idea what the series of letters that follow the periods in the web addresses of companies but they are very important and this is especially true when those letters are ASP. This letter set means active server pages and is a form of hosting that makes special amends for those that need only the best in web hosting. With ASP you run a far less chance of getting the red X on an object that can not be displayed because of a miscommunication between the server and the page. Of course this all means very little if you do not know how the ASP works and what it all means. This is a matter of some slight discussion as the overall works of ASP is quite simple by nature and can actually improve the viewing of your site to those who visit.

ASP is basically a server side hosting service. Now, server side hosting may not mean much to you as the term is fairly new. What it breaks down to is the way in which the page is displayed. Instead of the page being opened in the web browser as they are in the HTM set up, the ASP page is opened and loaded directly on the server itself. This is a great improvement over the browser side hosting as it can take a considerable amount of time to respond and may not load all of the components properly. It is all about the loading and converting of the script that appears on the page. With a web browser page the site is being loaded as it is opened and that is why the lack of proper loading is so common. With ASP, the site is completely loaded prior to the browser getting the site so you eliminate the lack of loading of HTML that is normal in the realm of HTM pages.

ASP is the server side application that is changing the way we all view web sites and this is very good news. Companies are finding that ASP is providing them with sites that are rarely down and offer the best in viewing for their customers. The only main concern is the fact that ASP is not yet supported by all servers. This can mean that a lot of people may not be able to view the site and that can mean lost business.
